Biography


Patrick Allard is in his last term of New Media and Web Development at BCIT. He is currently volunteering for Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as a Video Blogger doing their VodCasts. This roll includes on site video shooting and editing.

Patrick is also a National Level Rugby Referee volunteering for Rugby Canada. He has been a member of the Rugby Canada High Performance Team since 2006. His appointments include:

Before Patrick enrolled in BCIT, he worked for his family’s business as the safety advisor. He designed and implemented the program across both the Ready Mix Concrete and Sand and Gravel divisions.

He has also worked for Whistler/Blackcomb as a Sales Representative at UBC while completing his degree in Human Kinetics specializing in Physical Education. He is a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. With his passion and drive he has been awarded the Alumni of the Year Award as voted by the active chapter in 2007/08.

Patrick is a firm believer in the open source community. He specializes in content management systems (CMS), particularly Drupal, video shooting and editing.

Patrick is an avid traveler. He is has been to numerous places and loves to experience new culture. He has also been known to take the odd photograph during his travels.
